Escape Formulations

Why does the self formulate the ideal? Are we avoiding reality? Is it a type of escapism? One gets bogged down by the pressures and demands of daily living. One desires a respite from the conflict and confusion of existence. Because we think in terms of conflict, of confrontation in our relationships, we seek avoidance if at all possible. The mind dwells in ideals, in the projected image of probable results. One does everything possible to avoid pain and promote what is perceived as favorable. But is the avoidance of pain and the seeking of the pleasurable polar opposites. Does not one define the other, are they not two sides of the same coin. Is there pain or pleasure in the absolute moment. The reality of what is contains neither. It is only a product of the mind that is projecting the fear of having or not having. Because one is grounded in desire one creates the duality of psychological pain and pleasure.

One is unable to understand the simplicity of what is, that which is the absolute moment. When there is realization of the true self, then there is a dissipation of the duality of the known. One has understanding that is without polarity. The moment is neither good nor bad, right nor wrong. Because one is not seeking a result, one accepts what is, and lives it totally. There is no escape, no formula for the projection of what should be. One is the timeless, that which cannot be touched. There is an absence of cause and effect as the result of action and reaction.

All thought is mathematically linear. One is seeking the logic of equality. To think in terms of equation is to discover only physical relevancy and to attempt to define through the conceptual. The reality of the unknown cannot be quantified or conceptualized. It is when the mind is silent not moving, the meditation of the timeless. One ceases the activity of the formulated of that which seeks escape. In the space between two words one finds the peace and freedom of the unknown.
