Perception and the Untethered Mind
Before a person can begin to understand the process of how and why we perceive a given circumstance, there must be self knowledge. But to understand the "self" requires an enormous amount of awareness. Awareness that goes beyond a mere conscious effort to understand. One must realize that we exist in our mind as an activity that is in the process of escaping reality. People generally know themselves as they would like to be as opposed to what they actually are. Because the mind lives in what should be, what is, escapes the intellect. To admit the moment as the only reality is a big step in understanding the whole process of human perception. Once a person realizes the illusion of the self that is "knowing" then there is the possiblility of understanding that is on a different level. Only a person that exist in the absolute moment can be transformed. The minds ideal, its illusion cannot be transformed because it does not exist. One only exist in the moment, so realizing yourself as you actually are is part of that transformation. The mind has no excuses, it cannot say tomorrow I will change. There is no tomorrow or yesterday, there is only this moment. It is the meditation of a mind that has thrown off its bondage. A mind that has severed it tether to beliefs and dogma. Freedom that allows one to realize the truth of the moment.
The truth of the moment creates an atmoshere in which intelligence of a different sort blossoms into a peaceful repose of understanding and allowing. Allowing the fact and reality of the moment to dictate action rather than opinion and belief. Beliefs and dogma only pervert perception. We distort the reality of what and who we actually are through justification and/or reconcilation. One realizes that transformation is on ongoing process of constantly remaining in the moment. Awareness that is not about an accomplishment or a place that we are seeking. But of simply allowing what is and of realizing it as the only reality. Staying with that reality is the meditation of a mind that is not caught in any system of belief. One is not seeking anything, only to understand totally the reality of what is.
