Seeing Vs Looking
How many times have you tried to change or eliminate what is habitual? Why is it that when we realize that we are still in the same old pattern that we cannot in "reality" actually change? Change that is a permanent letting go. One that not only alters perception, but alters the very way in which we think. We may "look" at ourselves, at actions and words, and know that we need to become a better person. To be more accepting, to not judge, to allow the moment to dictate an action rather than an opinion, but still we are caught in the repetition of a mind that is pre-programed. We are all effectually in a brainwashed stupor, because we "look" but do not "see".
When we "look" we observe with an ideal in mind. We think I must be more like so and so or that I need to be different for health reasons or I am looking for acceptance. Whatever the reason, because we are looking for the fruition of an ideal we are caught in the illusion of a projected tomorrow. To "See" is to observe without judgement or to look from a position. It is to observe without the defined self as the one who is "looking" for the ideal. If you can "see" in the moment then that very seeing is the change. It enables you to break the pattern of repetition that is the trap of a conditioned consciousness. When you break through your conditioning then you "see" with an intellect that is not connected or influenced by the past. The moment is actual reality all else is the self that is seeking an ideal. The ideal is the concoction of a mind that is caught in the fantasy of the known.
The clarity of the moment is not the induced result of something that you "know" to be true. That clarity is not seeking a solution, it is the factual state of existence in the absolute moment. No amount of logic can penetrate the truth of the absolute moment. It is when all else is not.
